Grading
Project Introduction/Big Idea discussion (10 points per assignment): With the start of every project there will be a project introduction, class discussion and demonstration. Students are required to participate in all class activities on the days of the project introduction. For some projects there will be small introduction assignments to prepare you for the larger more complex assignment. each intro assignment will be worth 10 points based on completion. These will be due on the intro day or the following day.
Sketches (5 points per entry or sketch): During this time you will be looking up multiple resources to use a references to create your art. For certain assignments there will be a requirement to do a preliminary sketch of your ideas. These will be turned in when the project is due.
Final (for HS only): TBD I will let you know as we get closer to midterms.
Art Review/Critiques (10 points): At the end of each large project students will be required to fill out the art review worksheet and self critique before their final project will be graded. All review worksheets, introduction assignment, sketches, and projects will be turned in to Mrs. Piro after completion.
Art Projects (graded by rubric/points determined based on the number of Learning Targets): The type of projects are described on the home pages of Drawing, Painting, Graphic Design, Clay or Sculpture. The total points each project is worth will vary depending on the complexity of the assignment. All learning targets on the rubrics are based off of Iowa Fine Arts Standards. All Learning Targets are graded on a 4 point scale. All projects will also be graded on effort, craftsmanship, and time management.
Presentation (4 points): Students will fill out a presentation slip (now attached to review sheet) to attach to their work and also must set up their work for display in the display cases or other approved areas. Work must be created with display in mind and presented neatly.

STANDARD PRESENTING: (Displaying Work) Select, analyze, and interpret artistic work for presentation. Develop and refine artistic techniques and work for presentation. Convey meaning through the presentation of artistic work.
