Cross Contour Lines (Quill Pen Drawing Part 2)
Cross contour lines are parallel lines that curve over an object’s surface in a vertical or horizontal manner (or both) and reveal the item’s surface characteristics. Cross contour lines are similar to wire framing used in 3D design.
TIPS:
-Pay attention to what the shape of the object is. Think about if a drip of water fell on your subject what path would it follow down.
-You're trying to create a 3D look to your image by only using lines.
-In areas that are darker on your picture add more lines to your drawing to give the look of shadows shadows. (Hatching Lines)
