Classroom Rules

Elementary (K-2)

Effort: 100% Effort on all assignments every day. Try your hardest.
Respect: you, other students, teachers, artwork and supplies
Clean-Up: Clean up your own messes. Put supplies back where they go. Wipe tables down if needed.
Sit in Chair: Sit in your chairs the correct way. No tipping! 
Listen: Listen to the teacher and when other friends are talking or answering questions.
Talk Quietly: You can talk to the people at your table during work time using indoor voices.

High School / Jr. High

Participation/Attendance: BE HERE ON TIME EVERY DAY. PARTICIPATE ON ASSIGNMENTS EVERY DAY. IF YOU ARE CONSTANTLY ABSENT OR NOT PARTICIPATING IT WILL REFLECT IN YOUR PROJECT GRADE.

Advanced Art Students: IF YOU PASSED AN ART CLASS IN HIGH SCHOOL THEN YOU ARE NOW AN ADVANCED STUDENT IN THE CLASS YOU PASSED. YOU NOW HAVE THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE YOUR FOCUS. YOU NEED TO MEET THE SAME DEADLINES AS THE BEGINNING ART STUDENTS.

Supplies/Clean-up: CLEAN UP YOUR OWN MESSES. 5-7 MINUTES BEFORE CLASS IS OVER START CLEANING. BRING A PENCIL AND COMPUTER TO CLASS EVERY DAY.

Discipline: All the same rules outlined in your student handbook will apply to the art room.

Homework/Late Assignments: NO HOMEWORK WILL BE ASSIGNED. HOMEWORK WILL BE ANYTHING YOU NEED TO MAKE UP OR FINISH UP BEFORE A DEADLINE.






Cell Phones: NO PHONES OUT DURING CLASSROOM TIME. THERE WILL BE A CHARGING STATION AVAILABLE IN THE "PARKING STATION". 
"POCKET OR PARK IT"

Food/Drink: NO FOOD ALLOWED IN THE ART ROOM. TRANSPARENT WATER BOTTLES ARE OKAY.





Restrooms: GET A PASS. DO NOT TAKE TOO LONG. IF RESTROOM TRIPS BECOME A PROBLEM THEY WILL NO LONGER BE ALLOWED.





Plagiarizing: DON'T COPY WHAT YOU SEE/RESEARCH/FIND. 








Computers: BRING YOUR COMPUTER EVERY DAY TO CLASS. DO NOT USE IT WHILE TEACHER IS TALKING UNLESS GIVEN PERMISSION. FOR CLASS/NOT FOR GAMING.

Western Iowa Conference Art Show: The high school art show is hosted at one of the school in the conference. We will be able to take up to 80 art pieces to display. Two judges (chosen by the hosting school) will judge and critique the artwork. Winning students will be awarded "Honorable Mention" or "Outstanding Work" awards. One student in the entire show will be awarded "Best of Show". We will take a field trip to go see the show. The event is in the spring usually in the month of April. Details and further instruction will be given to you at a later date.


Field Trips: We will take at least two field trips this year, one in the Fall and one in the Spring (including WIC Art Show) Details will be given at a later date.
