Mrs. Piro
Hello! My name is Kimberly Piro and I am your art instructor for this school year. I wanted to begin by telling you a bit about myself. I lived in Colorado for most of my life and went to College in Greeley, CO at the University of Northern Colorado. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts with an Emphasis in Graphic Design. In college I met my husband and we moved to Iowa to start our careers. I worked at Lozier as a desktop publisher and printer for a year, and then decided to stop working there and go back to college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha to acquire a teaching certification in Studio Art K-12. I worked at Perfection Press in Logan, IA as a digital printer; and then I worked at Apotheca, Inc., which is an herbal and homeopathic medication production company in Woodbine, IA, as a Quality Control Administrative Assistant. I worked at Perfection Press and then Apotheca while I attended school part time at UNO. I am currently pursuing my Masters at UNI in Art Education. My husband, Seth, and I live in Harlan, Iowa with our daughter Marcella, our dog Gus and cat Ginger..
I now work as a freelance Artist in my free time and enter my art in galleries and shows as often as possible. The professional art world is very complex, so though I am teaching and working as a professional artist there is still much to learn.
I will be available for discussions, questions, and help before and after school. I look forward to having a great school year with you.
